ABOUT ME
I am a volcanologist studying the physical processes driving volcanic eruptions. I combine observational and numerical modeling techniques towards my primary goal of developing a more complete understanding of active volcanism. I am particularly interested in the eruptive behavior of persistently active volcanoes and the drivers of changes in activity style. This broad topic includes ongoing projects investigating the causes and consequences of lava dome collapse, the controls on lava flow advance rate and path, and transitions between effusive and explosive activity. Through greater understanding of how and why a volcano erupts, I aim to help improve hazard assessment and mitigation for volcanic eruptions.
